What they were up against

Founded by two early childhood education teachers, VOCEL (Viewing Our Children as Emerging Leaders) is a not-for-profit organization that works to ensure every child has the foundation to learn, grow and lead. As their operations began to expand, their programs began to evolve, and their messaging became more complex, they realized they needed to solidify their purpose, their messaging to various audiences and overall brand so that they had their own strong foundation to build on and grow.

What we did to help

Understanding that VOCEL is one of many wonderful child-focused organizations competing for donation dollars, it was important to sharpen their brand story. We held sessions with their team to identify things like their core beliefs, what makes their programs different and why their approach to learning works. This resulted in a comprehensive brand guide that informs all of VOCEL’s communications, from their elevator pitch to prospective donors to how parents are introduced to the program. This work culminated in messaging and a brand video unveiled at their largest annual fundraiser, now in its fifth year. Traditionally failing to reach $50k in day-of contribution commitments, VOCEL raised over $220k with over $80k from day-of commitments.
